October 15, 2018: With no more Titli threat and weather god in pleasant mood, an early start to festivities is observed in Agartala. On the day of Maha Panchami, people have taken over roads and visiting Puja Pandals. Loud speakers are blazing DJ beats in full volume while at many places old Bengali songs of Hemanta, Sandhya Mukerjee are bringing old memories alive. Since evening, full scale puja festivities gripped the city – apart from puja hoppers, people were also busy in completing last minute purchase and huge rush was observed in Surya Choumuhani, Hawkaers’ corner etc.

Children appear to be in no mood to waste a single day and dressed in colourful attire children alongwith their parents are flocking through pandals with joy and enthusiasm. While Puja organizers have brilliantly illuminated Pandals and adjacent areas, several houses have also decorated with multi-colour lights.

A quick tour in Agartala puja pandal revealed Bahubali movie has caught the imagination of puja organizers. One of the big budget pujas of the City – Netaji Play Forum has built the pandal resembling mythical ‘Mahishmati palace’ depicted in Bahubali movie.

Chittaranjan Club also drew inspiration from the movie and adopted as their Theme of the Puja. Another popular puja – Bharat Ratna Club at Ushabazar has built pandal resembling Angkor Wat of Cambodia. People will have a chance to have an optical delight of Famous Opera House of Paris at Puja organized by Yuba Samaj Club of Joynagar.
