Agartala, June 14, 2019: In the fifth Meeting of Governing Council of Niti Aayog, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar is likely to highlight several developmental plans as well as demands relating to fund allocation for the State in 15th Finance Commission, Inland waterways connection with Bangladesh and proper implementation of APMC Act for the benefits of farming community in the State. The Chief Minister left for Delhi today to attend the meeting scheduled to be held in Rastrapati Bhavan on Saturday.
Before leaving for Delhi, the Chief Minister held important meetings with Chief Secretary and Secretaries of various departments to prepare the issues to be highlighted in the NITI Aayog meeting.
According to official sources, the Chief Minister finalized some important issues like flood situation in Tripura, roadmap for development of aspirational Dhalai district and 12 aspirational blocks (identified by the state government), demands of state relating to Fifth Finance Commission, and waterways.
The Chief Minister would seek help from the Centre for implementing the plan prepared by the state government to get rid of flood problem. Besides, the Chief Minister also prepared a separate roadmap for making Tripura a Malaria-free state. Sources said, the Chief Minister is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah among other central ministers to discuss state’s issues.
