August 30, 2018: The Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman inaugurated a Dialysis Unit at District Hospital of South Tripura in Santirbazar under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Dialysis Scheme’. After inaugurating the facility, Roy Barman said, As dialysis is beneficial in increasing the longevity of life of persons suffering from end stage renal disease, such an unit will be very much helpful for the patients.
So far, patients suffering from Kidney diseases would have come to Agartala for availing Dialysis facility which involved costs as well as caused sufferings to patients.
Speaking about shortage of Medical staffs, the Minister said, strength of medical staffs have already been augmented in hospitals and health centers in every district. Moreover, concerned CMOs can re-deploy specific doctors on temporary basis to other hospitals to tackle any emergency. He assured, “Our commitment towards improvement of the health sector in the state continues”.
Sudip Roy Barman interacted with patients undergoing treatment and collected feedback from the patients. He assured them of complete satisfaction in respect of the treatment and services being provided by the hospital authority. The inauguration programme of Dialysis unit was organized by the National Health Mission, Health and Family Welfare Dept of the State.
