Agartala, January 02, 2019: The fifteenth Finance Commission (FC) team will arrive in the State on January 16 next in a four-day visit. The tenure of the 15th will commence from April 1, 2020. The FC suggests fund allocation for each state for s during of five years.
The 14-member FC team will be headed by its chairman Nand Kishore Singh. The team consists of four FC member including NK Singh and rest being the senior officials of FC. Members of FC who will accompany NK Singh are Dr. Anup Singh, Dr. Ashok Laheri, Dr. Ramesh Chand.
The visiting team will held meetings with Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, his cabinet colleagues, top officials of different Departments, ADC administration, elected local bodies including Agartala Municipality Corporation (AMC) and representatives of political parties etc.
A fourteen-member team of XV Finance Commission headed by its chairman NK Singh would be arriving here on January 16 next.
During four-day visit, the FC team will hold separate meeting with Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, his cabinet colleges, departmental heads, representatives of political parties, ADC authority and elected local bodies including Agatala Municipal Corporation (AMC). In the meetings State Government will place demand for fund allocation on different purposes while the FC will explore rationality behind such demands for allocation. Also, fund allocation by 14th FC and utilization of funds will be evaluated. After intensive consultations, FC will recommend non-plan outlay for the period, 2020-21 to 2024-25.
