Agartala, Jun 16, 2019: The prime accused in spreading inappropriate and malicious rumours against Tripura Chief Minister and his family, Anupam Paul have been sent to Police remand.
Paul was arrested on the charges of spreading misappropriated information in the social media. Section, 464, 461, 501, 120B, 384, 466 and 474 were imposed against him.
Anupam Paul was arrested from the Delhi Airport on June 12 last. Anupam was produced before the Delhi Metropolitan Court seeking transit remand. The remand was granted and the accused was taken back to the state accordingly.
Police sources said, an FIR was lodged against him with West Agartala Police station on April 25 last from when he was absconding. Speaking to this correspondent, investigating officer of the case said, he was arrested on the charges of spreading misappropriated information in the social media. Section, 464, 461, 501, 120B, 384, 466 and 474 were imposed against him.
