September 07, 2018: Brave daughter of the State Sumati Debbarma along with daughter of District SP Sudipta Das will receive the first shots of Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccines on September 15 next in Ambassa to encourage the children and infuse confidence among the guardians about the MR vaccine, sources said.
Aiming to ensure children free from Measles-Rubella (MR) diseases, Dhalai district is gearing up to make MR Vaccination campaign slated to be started from September 15 in the State. Meanwhile, North District has also made elaborate arrangements to ensure success of the campaign.
With all the hard works underway, district administration of Dhalai today conducted a Media workshop to sensitize reporters and take initiatives in dispelling myths and fear.
Addressing today’s press meet, DM of Dhalai, Bikash Singha said, children from nine months to fifteen years of age will be administered Measles-Rubella vaccination. During the campaign, around 1,14,217 children targeted to be vaccinated. Health workers will be deployed and vaccination will be conducted in 131 Sub-Health Centers, 1282 Anganwadi centers, 838 government schools, 46 private schools during 30-day long campaign. Singh discussed about the initiatives undertaken to make the programme successful. The Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Shardindu Reang, World Health Consultant, Dr. Mahesh Patel were present in the press meet. Among others, Swapan kumar Debbarma with his daughter Sumati Debbarma was also present.
