December 04, 2018: At least 32 persons were injured after an Agartala-bound passenger bus fell into a gorge at Kalajhari in Gandacherra sub-division under Dhalai in Tripura today.
Altogether 22 injured persons were referred to GBP hospital and the remaining persons were undergoing treatment at Gandacherra hospital till the last information came in.
The condition of three (3) amongst the 32 injured persons is stated to be critical.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb went to GBP hospital in Agartala about at 9.45 pm and met the injured persons. He inquired about health condition of the injured people.
The bus bearing number TR01-B-1391 was proceeding towards Agartala from Gandacherra. When the bus reached Kalajhari, it fell into a deep gorge as the driver lost his control over the vehicle.
As a result, all passengers of the vehicle including the driver sustained injuries . Fire Service personnel along with police reached the spot and rescued the injured persons.
When contacted, SP Dhalai Sudipta Das said over telephone, “All 32 injured persons including driver of the vehicle were rushed to Gandacherra hospital.
Among them, 22 persons were referred to GBP hospital. However, the bus could not be rescued so far,” said the Dhalai district police chief.
