Agartala, July 21, 2019: Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb reiterated his Government’s resolve to transform Tripura into a corruption-free state and accordingly, started unearthing wrong-doings of previous Left Front Government in Tripura. The Chief Minister indicated that he would go for a thorough enquiry and book the culprits who were involved in mismanagement of government fund and financial irregularities in various sectors during the Left rule.
“There were irregularities and corruptions in almost all the departments during the Left regime. And, as per poll promise, the BJP-IPFT government will unearth all such irregularities,” Biplab Deb said while addressing a Party Programme today in Agartala.
He said the state government already sent several cases relating to irregularities in flyover construction, selection of college outside Tripura for Nursing courses under government-sponsored scheme, MGNREGA and other sectors to Vigilance for probe. He claimed that the overall crime rate and unemployment rate have decreased and the law and order situation improved since BJP came to power in the state in 2018 last. Deb, however, stressed on the need of increasing self-employment.
Taking part in ongoing membership drive at party’s state headquarters in Agartala today, Deb said the youth generation is now getting interested in politics in both the state and national level.
“BJP always prefers youth representation and that’s why the age of several Chief Ministers across the country is below 50. Moreover, the party gave tickets to a good number of youth in the last Lok Sabha polls.
This is the only party where a common man like Biplab Kumar Deb becomes Chief Minister within a few years of
political career,” Deb said while encouraging the youngsters who joined the saffron brigade today.
In today’s drive, over 40 youth from various fields- sports (including former Ranji cricketers), cinema, health, law and education joined the saffron camp.
MLA Santirbazar Pramod Reang, BJP state general secretary and Khadi Board Chairman Rajib Bhattacharjee,
Yuba Morcha state president and TIDC chairman Tinku Roy along with many other party activists were present in
the membership drive.
Earlier, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb attended another membership drive at his constituency- Banamalipur today.
