Agartala, Jan 09, 2019: In an attempt to strengthen the economy of the state making tourism as a constituent medium, the state government is planning to tie a knot of understanding with the neighbouring Bangladesh for offering international tourists a wrap up tour of adventurous Tripura, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
“A proposal has been already forwarded to the Union Ministry to approach Bangladesh government to this end” Deb added describing it as a revolutionary step if it comes into being. The Chief Minister who was addressing at the inaugural ceremony of three day long Pilak Archeological and Tourism Festival on Tuesday at Pilak in South district also claimed, the government is committed to meet the requirements of state people through innovative ideas which were never seen in last 25 years.
“Tourists of different countries come to Maynamati of Comilla in Bangladesh to have the essence of age old civilisations. But in Tripura, footfalls of foreign tourists are very negligible in number and this is why the government has taken an initiative to include Tripura in such a tourism package which will attract Bangladesh tourists to visit the state. This will surely improve the economy of the state and also boost up the life and livelihood of Pilak” Deb said.
Criticising the previous government, Deb said, it hurt me the most when I discovered my state known for its pristine culture was forwarded towards darkness pushing the youth towards drugs and illegal trade. And it was the reason why people of the mainland India are very much unknown of the beautiful facts of the state but not anymore, he added.
Commenting over ongoing 48-hour national strike and 11- hour NESO sponsored strikein ADC area in the state, he said, the politics of blockades and Bandhs are anti-people activities. Such programmes harm the state and it’s people which should not be supported by any responsible government, he concluded. Several other dignitaries were also remained present at the function.
