Agartala, Jun 17, 2019: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb placed demands to Union Government for holistic development of tribal areas and harnessing youth power of tribal communities. He also focused on expedition of CBI probe into Rose Valley Chit Fund cases.
The Chief Minister today met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and demanded special package for developmental activities in Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). He also stressed on improving life standard of tribal youths as well as Central schemes for the benefits of tribal students. During the meeting with Shah, Chief Minister raised demands for both the Long run and short run initiatives paving way for effective growth of tribal communities.
During the meeting, Biplab Kumar Deb also urged Shah to expedite CBI inquiry into Rose Valley Chit Fund as well as other ponzi schemes.
Among several other issues, Deb emphasized on completion of the left over border fencing work along India-Bangladesh border at Dhalai and Sepahijala district.
Importantly, the Chief Minister placed a proposal for deploying Home Guards in security sectors and also proposed reimbursement claim of Rs. 91,27,316 which was spent for SRE for CPMF during 2015-16. Deb also requested to increase the honorarium of SPOs from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 6156 per month (as many as 2830 SPOs are there at present).
In another note, the Chief Minister proposed for deployment of a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) Battalion outside the state. He then requested the Home Ministry not to withdraw Assam Rifles from Tripura and in case of withdrawal the assets and infrastructure of Assam Rifles to be handed over to State Government.
They also held discussions on Tripura Industries (Facilitation) Bill 2018.
After the meeting, the Home Minister assured that all issues would be positively responded for the betterment of Tripura. In a tweet, the Chief Minister said, “Had an immensely fruitful meeting with Shri @amitshah ji.”
Apart from this, the Chief Minister also met Union Health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan and requested him to improve and reform the overall health sector in the state. The union minister, the Chief Minister tweeted, assured that he would give special care to revive the health and medical sector of Tripura.
