December 25, 2018: More air flights are on cards for Tripura people – and State Government has chalked out strategies to attain self-sufficiency in milk production and development of diary sector for tackling unemployment issues. Chief Minister Biplab kumar Deb said this at a programme organized at Ranirbazar under West Tripura District today. The programme was held to commemorate birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee – the day is being observed as ‘Good Governance Day’.

Speaking at a held to commemorate birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee – the day is being observed as ‘Good Governance Day’ at Ranir Bazar under West Tripura District, Biplab Kumar Deb highlighted Modi-led BJP Government’s success in achieving economic growth during last four-half-years tenure.
In his speech, Deb detailed about BJP-IPFT Government’s strategies to combat unemployment problems with priority on welfare of underprivileged section of the society. The strategies would help educated youths also, he asserted as his Government has focused on flourishing diary industry in the State.
He said that Government would distribute 10,000 cows to 5000 families of Majlishpur, Barjala, Khayerpur, Bamutia, Mohanpur and Mandwi area. Beneficiaries will also get Rs 1 lakh loan with 30 per cent subsidy. With distribution of cows, the Government will work for development of milk sector in the State – presently, Rs 1100 crore outflow for diary related products. “The Government is keen to stop the outflow and attain self sufficiency in milk production.
With development of dairy sector, employment for educated youths will be created – and total volume of trade on milk in NE region stands at whooping Rs 18,000 crore. “This opportunity must be capitalized for the benefits of State youths”, he said.
As part of other initiatives for rural development, the Chief Minister pointed out FCI procurement of paddy at MSP from State farmers’. He opined, this will immensely benefit the farmers and improve earning opportunities. Deb also mentioned about social pensions and said, beneficiaries will get Rs 2000 per month as promised in vision document. He said that he had directed concerned officials to complete the process of identification of fake beneficiaries within January 31 next.
The Chief Minister said, more Agartala-Kolkata flights will be introduced and Agartala-Delhi flights are also on the cards as AIR Asia and other airlines companies will start providing services.
