Agartala, May 16: Even after repolling in 168 polling stations in West LS seat, Tripura Congress is yet to be satisfied and is readying to knock the Supreme Court. Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee today sought the reports submitted by special observer Vinod Zutsi from the Election commission of India. The party will move Supreme Court with the reports seeking an explanation as to how the Special Observer overruled the reports of Returning Officer, said TPCC president Pradyot Kishore Debbarman over the phone.
Debbarman who met the election panel today along with party higher-ups— Avisek Manu Singhvi, Ahmed Patel, Jairam Ramesh and Rajeev Shukla, also said, “We came to know from the Election Commission that the re-polls in 168 polling Stations were given considering the reports placed by the Special Observer.
“He (Zutsi) recommended for re-polls in 168 polling stations only. And the Election Commission took its decision as per the reports, the Election Commission informed us”, Debbarman said.
However, the high power team sought the reports submitted by the special observer to file the same in the affidavit with their petition filed in the Supreme Court seeking an explanation of overruling RO’s report, he informed this correspondent.
Notably, former TPCC president Birajit Sinha also accompanied the high power delegation of Congress.
