September 15, 2018: Digital Transformation has been one of the revolutionary changes in the last two decades. Engineers irrespective of their expertise and fields have made the most efficient use of digitalisation to modify the nation in a progressive manner. Health and IT Minister Sudip Roy Barman said this today after inaugurating a seminar on 51st Engineer’s Day in Agartala today. The Seminar – Digital Transformation: A New Industrial Revolution – was organized by the 51st Engineer’s Day Celebration Committee to mark birth anniversary of noted engineer Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya.
The Minister also congratulated Dr. Swapan Bhaumik ,Associate Professor & Head Department of Mechanical Engineering,NIT Agartala, Jirania,West Tripura for being awarded with the prestigious title of the ‘Engineer of the Year-2018’ for his immense contributions during the past years for the state of Tripura in the field of engineering.
In another programme, engineers of Amarpur observed 51st Engineer’s Day in Karbuk under Gomati District today. Engineers from different departments of State Government took part in the Engineers Day celebration programme today.
Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarya is considered to be a role model and inspiration for engineers of India. He was born on this day of 1861 at Muddenahalli village in Karnataka.
Paying homage to the great son of India, engineers distributed fruits and sweets among the Karbuk hospital patients and wished them quick recovery.
