Tripura: Exodus from IPFT to BJP

Agartala, July 20, 2019: Ruling BJP’s ally IPFT suffered a loss as several village-level leaders and activists deserted the Party and joined BJP. In a programme, more than 600 voters formally joined BJP quitting IPFT at Gandachhera under Dhalai district in Tripura today. Gandachhera BJP mandal organized a joining programme at Sarma bazaar today in which MP Rebati Tripura, MLA Ramapada Jamatia, president of Gandachhera Mandal Bikas Chakma and other local leaders were present.

“Bolstering saffron party’s position, 632 voters of 263 families today quit IPFT and joined BJP. Several top level leaders of local IPFT unit including youth wing of the Party have joined BJP”, Party sources said.
