Agartala, July 6, 2019: Food processing activities are viable option for sustainable income for the youths of Tripura – youths must come out of mindset which tells getting a Government job is the best option to earn a livelihood. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said this while inaugurating a workshop on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana today in Agartala.
The workshop was organized by Indian Chambers of Commerce in association with Food processing Ministry and State Industry and Commerce department. Among others, MoS Food Processing Ministry Rameshwar Teli was also present in the programme.
With abundant production of pineapple, jackfruit and ginger, there is huge scope for Food processing units to flourish. He exuded confidence that participants would gather valuable experience from the workshop and march forward.
Echoing Chief Minister’s thrust on Food Processing unit, Rameswar Teli said, the Ministry was set up in 1982 – however, it got momentum only during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure and the Prime Minister himself is keen to develop Food processing units in North Eastern States including Tripura.
