Agartala, February 25, 2019: Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura—IPFT, the coalition partner in the incumbent government, is all set jump in the run up of Lok Sabha elections with a full proof plan to be decided on February 27 next.
What would be party’s exact tactics, whether the party will contest in election, the issues etc. Everything will be decided in the February 27 meeting convened by the party supremo, according to the party insiders.
Sources in the party also said, the party is facing hard time due to inter conflicts among the state leadership. The issue of Lok Sabha election seems to have enlarged the existing fissures. In a recent disclosure, IPFT general secretary Mevar Kumar Jamita had claimed that the party will surely contest in the Lok Sabha elections without giving any detailed inputs.
On the other hand, party’s organizing heads have repeatedly claimed that the party will contest in both the Lok Sabha seats.
On a related a note, the youth fraction of the party wants to contest in the reserved East Tripura constituency. However, in this situation the meeting is expected to put some light on the direction in which IPFT is set to march, added the party sources.
