Agartala, February 08, 2019: Party activists are working over time and stage is ready to give Prime Minister Narendra Modi a rousing welcome tomorrow. Last inspection of management of whole event is going on as civil administration, security personnel and party activists are leaving no stone unturned to make the event a grand success.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a slew of projects and address a public meeting at Swami Vivekananda ground in Agartala. With LS Poll is knocking at the door, it is expected PM Modi to blow conch signalling all out campaign to ensure victories in both the LS constituencies. So long BJP never won in any of the two LS seats in previous LS polls.
As per schedule, he will land at MBB Airport at 3 pm and unveil the statue of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya installed at the airport.
Later in the afternoon, the Prime Minister will reach to the rally ground and inaugurate a new structure of IIIT. He will dedicate Garjee-Belonia rail tract to nation. Modi will address the people also.
Meanwhile, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s whirlwind visit, security across the rally venue has been heightened. Top Police officials are overseeing the security arrangements. A team of Prime Minister’s Special Protection Group (SPG) has already taken over the venue Modi is scheduled to visit. Close vigil is being maintained all along the Indo-Bangla international border. BSF troops guarding the border have been put on high alert. Frisking of commuters, setting up of mobile checking points has been witnessed in the city over the last three days. Modi has visited the state two times since he took over as the country’s Prime Minister.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also visited Swami Vivekananda ground late in Friday night. Sources in the administration has also said that a high level meeting has been convened in the civil secretariat on 10 PM to have a close look on the preparatory measures taken ahead of PM’s visits and do the needful changes.
On the other hand, Pradesh BJP is upbeat over Modi’s visit to the state. A BJP leader said the visit of party’s star campaigner will definitely help the party do better in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in the northeast region.
