August 20, 2018: The state government has announced a financial aid of Rs 1 crore to Kerala, which is hit by a massive flood that has claimed several lives and caused widespread destruction in the past few days.
“The council of ministers in an urgent meeting today decided to provide financial assistance of Rs. 1 crore to the flood-affected Kerala.
The decision was taken in a meeting at Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb’s chamber. The amount will be given to Kerala government for flood relief,” Education minister Ratanlal Nath told the reporters.
The council of ministers has also expressed profound grief and sorrow at the unprecedented floods that caused huge damage in Kerala claiming several lives.
He also said, in an emergent meeting the cabinet today passed a resolution expressing gratitude to the former Prime Minister (Late) Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his selfless service rendered to the country.
The Cabinet also observed one-minute silence as mark of respect to the departed soul. The cabinet condoled the demise of former Prime Minister, he added.
