October 28, 2018: Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri flashed green signal for considering proposals for new township development in Public-Private partnership model. The new Township project will come up with modern amenities.
Today Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb called on Hardeep Singh Puri in New Delhi and discussed various issues relating to urban development in Tripura.
In the discussion, various aspects of sustainable urban development were stressed. Deb also focused on new townships with modern amenities and held elaborate discussion with Puri.
The matter relating to construction of Effluent Treatment Plant at Akhaura to prevent water pollution was discussed in detail and it was decided that NBCC would submit the revised proposal to MoUD within next one week for further necessary action.
Union Minister also agreed to consider proposals for development of new townships in PPP mode.
The matter relating construction/ maintenance of PMGSY roads by NBCC was also discussed and Union Minister assured that suitable instructions have already been issued to NBCC and that the work would be expedited.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Tripura had visited East Kidwai Nagar Redevelopment Project being implemented by NBCC Ltd. Anoop Mittal, CMD NBCC Ltd welcomed the Chief Minister at the site and explained various aspects of the new upcoming township which caters to commercial as well as residential requirements of Government/ Public Sector.
Chief Minister discussed development of similar projects/townships in Tripura with all modern urban infrastructure and facilities. Various other urban development projects were also discussed with the CMD, NBCC.
