Agartala, June 22, 2019: Two under-trial inmates of Sabroom sub-jail in South Tripura fled away this afternoon putting security in jail under scanner. both the escapees remained untraced till report filing.
Sources said, Swarna Tripura of Chota Shakbari and Jewel Tripura of Bandarban, Bangladesh, both accused in Arms Act, were arrested from Jagrambari area on June 1 last. They applied a unique technique and managed to escape from the jail. Even though police launched a massive search operation, both of them remained so far.
Superintendent of Sabroom jail and SDM Sabroom Biplab Das confirmed the incident and said search was on to trace the two accused persons. SP South Mina Kumar, Addl. SP Ranbir Debbarma visited the Sabroom jail after the incident came to light.
