Agartala, April 07: Keeping the forthcoming General Parliamentary Elections – 2019 in mind, Border Security Force has not only intensified its vigil on the International Border but the Force is also determined to pursue its mission of ‘Anti-Narcotics Smuggling Drive’ vigorously. The Force is putting constant pressure on the border criminals and making allout efforts to prevent the smuggling of Narcotics and other Contrabands in the State of Tripura.
Acting on specific information, BSF planned a joint search Operation with the Department of Customs,Agartala on April 6. The joint Ops party carried out search of the suspected shop and house of one notorious YabaTablet smuggler namely Bilal Miah (36 years) of Sonamura under Sepahijala.
During above Operation, party succeeded in confiscating 28,000 Nos of Yaba Tablet worth Rs. 1,40,00,000/-, Indian Currency – Rs.1,31,170/- and BD Currency – 1,050/- Taka which were hidden inside the bed room and shop belonging to Billal Miah. At the time of the search operation, Billal Miah along with one Bangladeshi national namely Khadir Miah(45 years) of Thampsabari, Bangladesh were present in the house who were later arrested from the spot.
During the preliminary questioning Bangladeshi national revealed that he had come to the house of Bilal Miah to receive the consignment of Yaba Tablets. The seized consignment of Yaba Tablets and apprehended criminals were handed over to the Customs for taking legal action under NDPS Act.
Border Security Force with its Intelligence network is determined to counter the nefarious designs of trans-border criminals and prevention of trans-border crimes including smuggling. In a press communique DIG/PRO of BSF TRA FTR stated this.
