Agartala, September 14, 2019: Within the span of 15 days, burglars break into temples for the third time last night in North Tripura and decamped with ornaments and cash. Resentment among common people is palpable after repeated burglary and failure of Police in arresting the thieves. Agitating people blocked Kadamtala-Churaibari road in North Tripura District today.
Inhabitants of Churaibari area said, it seems that thieves have thrown a challenge to administration and are committing burglary one after another – total three incidents of theft in 15 days.
Narrating the events, one of the locals said, “Gang of burglars started with striking at Kadamtala Sarvojanin Kalibari. Even before dusts were settled, thieves stole valuable ornaments and cash from Kalibari at Churai Bari. In both of the cases, Police failed to arrest the thieves.
Lastly, burglars broke open entry door and entered into Mata Bisheshwari Seva Ashram at Churaibari – an eminent religious place in North District”. Sources alleged, burglars decamped from the Seva Ashram with 10 bhoris golden and 40 bhoris silver ornaments.
Expressing disgust at role of Police, people hit the street and protesting the failure of Police in arresting the thieves and curb the menace, local people staged road blockade at Churaibari along Kadamtala-Churaibari road.
