The State Government has not issued any reaction over recent Judgment relating to terminated 10323 ad hoc teachers, so long. However, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath while attending a blood donation camp shed light on the issue on Monday.
Nath said the state government was still analyzing the judgment as some of the paragraphs of the order copy of the Apex Court needed clarification.
Briefing the media persons on the sidelines of a blood donation camp organized by one of the organizations of 10,323 retrenched teachers, Nath said, “the State Government is analyzing the judgment. Whether we should once again move the Supreme Court seeking clarification or should not, is still a matter to be decided after a thorough analysis”.
“The Supreme Court judgment is, by and large, positive, but there are some doubts relating to two specific paras of the order that need clarification. Moreover, the Chief Minister is in quarantine and his quarantine period will end on August 12 next. Once he comes out of the quarantine, we will once again sit together along with our law secretary and other legal experts who are closely associated with the case. Soon a decision from the government will be taken,” Ratan said.
The Minister also took a dig at a section of the opposition who were trying to trigger a sense of insecurity and confusion among the terminated teachers which he felt was “an attempt to fish in the muddy water”.
“The state government sticks to its principles. As promised, the government has moved the Supreme Court seeking alternative ways to absorb the retrenched teachers in Group D and Group C posts. But, still there is a coterie of politicians who are repeatedly questioning us. We have a soft corner for the 10,323 teachers and we will do whatever it takes to protect them”, Nath added.
He also felt that the last batch of petitions filed by a section of teachers might have spoiled the matter. “If the teachers who have filed the latest petitions waited a bit and would not have done so, the picture may come different. However, we will, in every case, abide by the law of the land”, Nath further added.
