Agartala, January 01, 2020: Police arrested three hardcore extremists of banned NLFT from Panisagar and Dharmanagar Railway stations in North Tripura district today. Police also seized one 9mm pistol with 6 live rounds, NLFT extortion notices and many other incriminating documents from their possession.
According to police sources, the NLFT extremists were involved in threatening MP Rebati Tripura among other VIPs in a recent past.
Three arrested persons are- Phanijoy Reang of Manikpur, Samprai Debbarma of Mandai and Kanti Marak of Khedacherra. All of them are active members of banned extremist outfit- NLFT. They were involved in issuing extortion notices to local villagers and prominent personalities of the state.
When the three extremists reached Panisagar railway station in Agartala – Silchar passenger train, two among them were arrested but one managed to flee away. However, the other person was nabbed from Dharmanagar railway station at the evening.
