March 25, 2018: After initial target of wresting power from CPIM is achieved, BJP is now eyeing to strengthen its organizational network in Tripura. It is in this direction, All India BJP secretary Ram Madhav arrived in Agartala today held series of meetings and brainstorming sessions with MLAs and Party leaders. He also attended a Core committee meeting today.
BJP gained huge success in 2018 Assembly Polls and much of the credit goes to relentless activities of RSS in both plain and hill Tripura. Further tie-up with tribal regional party- IPFT also helped BJP to virtually push CPIM into extinction.
As the State BJP president Biplab Deb has become the Chief Minister and he is unable to spare time for the organization due to huge administrative activities. Under such a situation, concrete planning to take the organization of BJP to grass root people, particularly in view of upcoming 2019 LS Poll and three-tier PRI elections. Ram Madhav’s visit aims at preparing the BJP organization for next level activities and establishing a cohesive coordination between the Party and the organization. While Ram Madhav is busy in holding meetings, speculation over the post of State president is also doing rounds.
Sources said, the party high command is not in favour of changing the Party president in the State and Deb should continue both as Chief Minister and also as the party chief. However, there were actually three aspirants – Subal Bhaumik, Pratima Bhaumik and Rajiv Bhattacharjee – for the position, party sources said. However, in the wake of the high command decision, it appears that all the three would have to wait for some more months.
