December 27, 2017: The State unit of BJP has kicked off poll campaign through Padayatra (walkathon) and protest rallies in all 60 assembly constituencies across the State on Wednesday. The BJP today organized the Padayatra and rallies in all the 60 assembly constituencies to protest recent killings of several party activists and misrule of Left front. Party sources claimed, 1,70,000 party activists joined the Padayatra in various parts of Tripura. Along with the state leaders, MLAs and party leaders from Assam also attended the protest rallies.
Addressing a protest rally, State BJP president Biplab Deb lashed out at the Left Front government and said, “Left Front government has totally failed to control corruption though it is in power since long time. Only BJP can form a corruption-free government in Tripura”.
Referring recent attacks on BJP activists allegedly by the ruling party cadres, he said, “The CPI-M is making evil attempts to kill the democracy across the State. However, the violence and conspiracy of the ruling party will fail to stop the BJP and people will oust CPIM from power.”
