December 04, 2017: Tripura unit of BJP, anticipating polls on scheduled time, is fast intensifying organizational activities and the campaign is expected to be further intensified after Gujarat election is over. As part of its campaign and activities, saffron supporters in local PS area will lay siege Police Station on December 5. The Party will also highlight deteriorating law and order condition under CPIM rule and demand rule of the law to be restored.
Addressing a press conference today in Agartala, BJP spokesperson Dr Ashok Sinha said, “Several BJP supporters and workers were killed by CPIM cadres during last one year, however Police did not take any steps to arrest the culprits despite specific FIRs filed by BJP”, he said and alleged, ‘State Police is serving interests of ruling Party only’.
Later in the evening, State BJP prabhari Sunil Deodhar reiterated, BJP does not support IPFT’s demand for separate Twipra Land. He also pointed out that BJP was not supporting demand raised by IPFT for Inner Line permit in ADC area. Speaking to media, Deodhar talked about recent meetings between ST Morcha and three Union Ministers. He said, Morcha delegation demanded upgrading the status of ADC to State Council level. “Delegates met DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh, MoS of Home Ministry Kiren Rijiju and Tribal Welfare Minister Jewel Oram. During the meeting delegated discussed about issues pertaining to development of tribal communities in Tripura. Delegates also demanded direct transfer of funds to ADC”, Deodhar said.
BJP OBC Morcha today held an ‘impressive’ rally at Agartala in which Morcha supporters from different parts of the State participated, Party sources said, Among others, State BJP president Biplab Deb, All India OBC president Dara Singh Chauhan addressed the gathering. Exuding confidence, speakers claimed CPIM will be ousted from Tripura in ensuing elections. Biplab Deb slammed the CPIM-led government for leaving the OBC in lurch during its regime.
