June 07, 2018: Two live bombs were recovered from a saloon in Udaipur today ahead of President Ram Nath Kovind’s scheduled arrival. Acting on tip off, Police raided a saloon of Jatan Shil located at Chandrapur Village Bazar area and recovered the bombs. The shop is located near the helipad where the President’s chopper had landed.
The President Ram Nath Kovind today arrived in Agartala in a two-day state visit. The Governor Tathagata Roy, Chief Minister Biplab Deb and other Ministers greeted the President in Agartala Airport. Later, he flew to Udaipur to inaugurate 70-km stretch of the National Highway from Udaipur to Sabroom. He also visited famous Tripureswari Temple and launched a website ( www.matabaritemple.in ) of the temple.
However, on interrogation Jatan Shil reportedly claimed that he had no idea about the bombs and claimed himself to be innocent and might be a conspiracy hatched by someone else. Police is investigating the case.
