Agartala, November 24, 2019: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb raised the issue of Bru refugees with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. Currently, Deb is in the capital.
Bru refugees, also referred as Reang refugees took shelter in relief camps Tripura decades ago after they fled their native places in Mizoram due to violent ethnic clashes.
It may be noted, Tripura Government is keen to solve the decade long issue of the refugees and settle the Reang refugees.
Talking about the meeting with Amit Shah, Tripura Chief Minister said, “During our meeting discussed on wide range of issues which includes BRU settlement, fund release for NDRF, Special flight for TSR Jawans and Assam Rifles camp relocation”. In his tweet, Deb also mentioned that Amit Shah had assured to extend his support.
Biplab Kumar Deb also inspected Tripura Bhavan in New Delhi with officials. In a tweet, Deb said, “Took suggestions from those staying for further improving the service here. Also instructed officials to take care of the cleanliness of the Bhawan”.
