March 13, 2018: In his first ever Government programme after assuming Office, the Chief Minister Biplab Deb today inaugurated a 30-day Faculty Training Programme in Tripura Central University, Agartala. The programme was launched under the Pandit Madan MohanMalaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT).
In his inaugural speech, the Chief Minister urged the University authority to chart out plans for enhancing performance and become an excellent University in the country. “The State Government will extend all possible help and will also seek help from MoHRD, for overall improvement of this University”, Biplab Deb said. In his speech, the Chief Minister hailed the visionary approach of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Referring to worldwide fame of Nalanda University, Biplab Deb said, education is the measuring tool of development in any country. In ancient times, Nalanda University produced many scholars and great kings and even in present times, it is attracting global attention. Highlighting importance of a good educational institution, he said, even great king Chandragupta had to be trained up by Chanakya in the Nalanda University. Harping hope, he said, “I believe that Tripura Central University will be able to attain excellence and make the State proud”.
Urging the faculty members, young people and students to dream, Deb said,”I am not blaming anyone, but people of Tripura have forgot to dream since many years. But no can make significant progress unless he dreams – so dream big.
In his brief but crisp speech, Biplab Deb was able to connect with the people and created an aura of hope among the students, commented a student of the University.
