Tripura CM warns landlords for bothering healthcare personnel engaged in fight against Corona Pandemic. Dial 102 for emergency medical help. Govt to distribute cooked food to needy

Agartala, March 25, 2020 : Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb reacted sharply and warned actions against landlords who are reportedly not co-operating with healthcare personnel relating to rented accommodation for attending duties during coronavirus outbreak.
It is reported that in some areas, landlords are behaving mindlessly with medical staff as they are engaged in healthcare delivery services at the time global threat – Coronavirus menace. The Chief Minister took strong exception and said that stern action would be taken against such landlords.
In a message, Deb said, “It has come to my knowledge that few landlords are not co-operating with their tenant Doctors and Medical staffs engaged in fight against Corona Pandemic. I appeal to the people of Tripura to help our medical staffs in this hour of need. They are working for our safety at the risk of their lives. Strict actions will be taken as per law if anyone found involved in such activities.”

Considering plight of critical patients during lockdown, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb flagged off services of 50 Ambulances fitted with emergency life support in Agartala today. These ambulance will remain functional throughout the State on 24X7 basis.
Later Deb said, These life support ambulances are dedicated to the 37 lakhs people of Tripura.

Our Government has spent approximately Rs 50 Crore for this project. This is the first time in Tripura that such an initiative has been taken by the State Government. Also Tripura has become the second State in North East which has such facilities.

Cooked food for homeless
In view of ongoing lockdown, Tripura Government has decided to distribute cooked food items among the homeless, labourers, rickshaw pullers and daily wage earners. In notification, Director of State Urban Department said, food items will be cooked centrally in different parts of the State through local urban bodies. The cooked food packets will be served two times every day using four dedicated vehicles.
The members of women Self Help Group will be inducted in cooking and packing of foods. The notofocation mentioned that SHG members will have to maintain hygiene as well as maintain social distancing during preparing and distributions of foods. Food packet distribution will start with immediate effect.
