May 06, 2018: Political situation is fast deteriorating and becoming hostile since after Assembly poll results were announced. While ruling party unleashed attack on CPIM activists in several areas, inner party clashes between ruling alliance – BJP and IPFT is snowballing into major problem. Addressing a press conference, CPM State secretary Bijan Dhar said this today.
“IPFT is an ally of Government but still is raising demand for separate Twipraland – What type of Government is this?”, saying this Bijan Dhar drew attention of the Government. Before election, BJP said that they would not support demand for separate state – however, after forming the Government, BJP’s ally IPFT has intensified its demand for Twipraland but this time BJP is silent, Dhar said.
Bijan Dhar also highlighted ‘growing tension’ between BJP and IPFT in the Hill areas. “In their attempts to wrest control of Hill areas, both BJP and IPFT are fighting against each other and reports of clashes are pouring in from different Hill areas”.
Saying that on-going tensions between BJP-IPFT have created a chaotic situation in tribal areas, Bijan Dhar said, all developmental activities have come to a grinding halt leaving tribal people are facing acute financial crunch, moreover people are deprived of getting benefit of Public Distribution System (PDS). “Hill economy is severely hit due to BJP-IPFT clash over gaining control and the State Government is not paying attention to plight of poor tribal people”, Bijan Dhar alleged. Continuing tirade against the ruling BJP-IPFT, Bijan Dhar criticized Government’s reported decision to broadcast and publish news in Hindi ignoring Kokbarok. He appealed to give equal importance to all languages.
