March 17, 2018: Launching a scathing attack on ruling BJP-IPFT alliance, opposition CPI-M leaders today narrated incidences of violence and vandalism unleashed by BJP-IPFT in several areas in Khowai. After touring the ‘violence’ ridden areas under Khowai district, CPI-M central committee members – Gautam Das and MP Jitendra Choudhury today accused the ruling alliance of resorting to ‘large scale violence which was not witnessed in last 25 years’. Both the leaders demanded State Government’s intervention in restoring normalcy at the earliest.
Both the leaders also demanded immediate steps to control the hostility and vandalism and establish rule of the law at the earliest. Addressing a press conference, both Das and Choudhury demanded intervention of National and State level Human Rights Organizations and demanded treatment facilities for the victim. CPI-M leaders also demanded compensations for the victims.
