May 06, 2018: In an unfortunate incident of fratricide, in the wee hours of 06May,2018,CT Shishupal of BSF fired upon Head Constable Vijay Kumar, Kote NCO apparently in a tiff. He reportedly also fired at sentry, but missed him. Subsequently, he also fired upon at Constable/Driver Rakesh Kumar Yadav & Constable Rinku Kumar and later shot himself dead. Constable Rakesh Kumar Yadav and Constable Rinku Kumar were taken to Civil hospital Kailashahar, where Constable Rinku Kumar succumbed to his injuries. In incident 04 BSF personnel of 55 Bn BSF, deployed at BOP Magroli, unfortunately lost their life and their mortal remains are being dispatched to their respective native places. Inspector General Frontier Tripura and other Senior BSF Officers have rushed to the spot for detailed enquiry. Further details will be provided later on. The formation Tripura frontier has expressed deep shock, at the incident and has offered their condolences to the Next of Kins. Arrangements are being made to send mortal remains, by Air to their respective home towns at Jammu and 24 Parganas in West Bengal. A press communique from BSF HQ Shalbagan, Agartala said this.
