Tripura was awarded for successful implementation of MNREGA. Also ranked 1st in PMAY and 2nd in DDUGKY implementation.

Agartala, December 24, 2019: In recognition of its success in implementing MNREGA, the Central Government has accorded awards to Tripura under various categories. Tripura has been awarded in 13 categories altogether by the Ministry of Rural Development for its achievements in MNREGA and other flagship schemes implementation, Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, Jishnu Dev Varman said today.
Speaking at a media conference in Agartala, he said, “Tripura secured the first position in maintaining discipline in the MGNREGA funds. In terms of completing projects wth in stipulated time, Tripura secured the second position among the hilly states.
Gomati district of Tripura reached atop among the hilly states for successful implementation of the scheme. Gomati district also secured the second position in district level implementation of the scheme among the hilly states of the country. Karbok block under Gomati district and Teliamura block under Khowai district have been also awarded from its performances in MNREGA .”
Role of Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission has been also praised in the national level. Tripura secured second position in DDUGKY scheme among NE and hilly states of the country and the State also came first in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) among the hilly states and union territories.
On Government’s plan, Dev Varman said, State government is stressing on creation of permanent assests through MGNREGA eyeing on sustainable livelihood development.
