Tripura Govt issues six directives including rescheduling duty-roaster to revamp health services in prime referral Hospital of Tripura – AGMC and GBP hospitals

Agartala, February 15, 2020: Tripura Government has issued several directives pertaining to, mainly, duty roster to two prime referral health care unit – AGMC and GBP – of the State. The directives aims at improving health care services in the two hospitals.
The order was issued and signed by Dr. D. Basu, secretary to the Government of Tripura. The directives included rescheduling of duty roaster to improve health delivery services. Moreover, directives were issued relating to patient party meet.
On Duty Roaster
According to the memorandum, it has been observed that the duty roster in force could not meet the required level of service. In view of the above the duty pattern has been re-scheduled.
As per the revised pattern, for the evening shift duty (4PM to 10PM) of all clinical departments, the Assistant Prof./SR/Specialist Medical Officer will be put on standby duty and for such duty the concerned officer will not be excluded to perform the usual duty on the next day. However, the concerned officer may be exempted from the day duty (9AM to 4PM) for that day.
Apart from this, one senior faculty member will remain on-call duty for the evening shift (4PM to 10PM) for which the officer cannot be excluded from the usual day duty (9AM to 4.30PM) of the same day as well as for the next clay.
There will be compulsory evening round for each unit of all departments between 6PM to 8PM headed by faculty members not below the rank of Assistant Professor.
The night shift duty (10PM to 9AM of next day) will be managed by the departments internally as usual.
On Patient Party meet
As per the directives, patient party meet will be held at specific time and the meet has been made compulsory.
Each unit will conduct compulsory party meet between 1 PM to 2PM for appraisal of the concerned patient parties. During the meet, relatives of the patients would be able to know condition of their patient.
The last directive is related to critically ill patients. According to the directives, for critically ill patients, the Unit In-charge or Sr Faculty member will conduct the party meet.
