July 22, 2018: The health sector in the State is lagging behind in delivering the services and medical infrastructure is also inadequate – these shortfalls need to be looked upon as challenge and we must try to optimize the service delivery while the Government is working to improve infrastructural facilities. The Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman said this while addressing a felicitation programme of fresh graduates and post graduate doctors. The National Doctors Association of Tripura organized the programme in association with the All Tripura Government Doctors Association of AGMC and TMC, 2018 today in Agartala.
Today’s felicitation programme was first of its kind. “No such programme felicitating MBBS passed candidates were held during the Left Front Regime. With change in the Government, taste of people have changed and accordingly, the felicitation programme was organized today”, organizers said. Among others, MLAs Dr Atul Debbarma, Dr Dilip Das and AGMC principal Dr KK Kundu were also present in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudip Roy Barman urged medical fraternity to ensure medical services to people of every section of the society despite shortcomings. While he stressed on proper medical service delivery, Sudip Roy Barman also asserted, BJP-led Government is working to uplift infrastructural and medical facilities in the State for improving health care services.
Congratulating the successful medical graduates and PG candidates, he said the young doctors are the strength of the State and their dedication will expedite the improvement of the health sector.
