April 23, 2018: As part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, a programme was held to inaugurate State-level special intensified Mission Indra Dhanush at Takerjala under Sepahijala district in Tripura. The Health Minister Sudip Roybarman – in presence of Revenue Minister NC Debbarma – inaugurated the intensified Mission today.
In his inaugural speech, Sudip Roy Barman said, immunization programme was launched by Central Government in the country in 1985 and only 65 per cent of population could be brought under the ambit of Immunization till 2016. Aiming to reach to remaining 35 per cent of population Government of India took special initiative and launched Mission Indra Dhanush, Roy Barman said.
Urging all to make special Immunization drive successful, he said, in this phase, immunization programme will continue till April 27 and the objective of this drive is to bring left out children who did not receive immunization, under the coverage of Mission Indra Dhanush. He called upon ASHA workers as well as local people to take initiative for 100 per cent success.
Speaking on the occasion, NC Debbarma shed lights on importance of good health of mother and children.
