April 21, 2018: Heavy rainfall and thunderstorm lashed out across Agartala in two phases. Strong winds blew across in the afternoon severely affecting power supply. Power officials said, works to restore power supply have started and in some parts, power supply is restored.
Heavy overcast sky soon melted in heavy downpour and submerged several areas causing traffic snarl. Pump houses started flushing out drain-water. However, heavy cloud hovered over the city and strong wind combined with heavy rainfall had struck once again. Strong winds hit the power supply and rendered pump houses non-functioning. Electric supply is yet to be restored in many parts and most part of Agartala remain inundated.
Although sky is still overcast drain water level receding after rains stopped couple of hours ago.
