December 16, 2017: IPFT will go alone in – no pre-poll alliance with BJP or CPM – ensuing State Assembly Polls and will contest in 56 out of total 60 seats, said IPFT NC Debbarma today in Kanchanpur under North Tripura district while addressing a rally.
Importantly, IPFT leaders today launched a vociferous campaign against BJP and warned tribal communities about ‘danger’ of emergence of BJP in Tripura. Apart from NC Debbarma, vice president of IPFT Ananta Debbarma, central committee leader Amar Shanti Chakma and other leaders addressed the gathering and announced poll strategies.
Saying that BJP poses greater threat, Ananta Debbarma said, interests of tribal communities will receive serious jolts if BJP comes into power in Tripura. He said, “Experiences of BJP ruled States clearly indicate that BJP is not compassionate about demands of tribal people. If BJP is voted into power in Tripura, tribal will lose freedom to organize agitations in support of demands for interests of tribal people.” Leaders of the Party urged tribal youths to be united and continue struggle against BJP.
