Agartala, September 20, 2019: Agartala city may face severe power crisis due to technical malfunctioning of the 50 MVA power transformer at 79 Tilla grid sub-station since this afternoon.
Engineers suspected sabotage for the massive failure of the grid sub-station and police is also reported to have started investigation into the matter following an FIR. Engineers apprehended that the malfunctioning of the sub-station may lead to serious power crisis in the city for next two days.
However, the Power department swung into action in war-footing to restore the grid sub-station. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb already spoke to the top officials to fix the problem at the earliest. A top official of the Power department smelled conspiracy behind the massive failure and police already initiated a probe into the matter.
According to official sources, the Power department is making all possible efforts to get rid of the problem. Even, to meet the demand in the city, power is being imported from outside the state. However, some parts of the city may still face frequent load shedding for next two days although a transformer is being brought from Dharmanagar to fix the problem.
