May 09, 2018: In its attempt to enhance organizational capacity, BJP has triggered huge slide in the support base of CPIM in Khowai and Asharambari Constituency areas. Around 1500 CPM activists including Panchayat members joined BJP in two separate programmes today.
In a joining programme organized by Asharambari Mandol of BJP at Goplanagar Bazar, 672 voters of 231 families joined saffron camp quitting CPIM. Today’s joining programme is significant as IPFT’s Mebar Kumar Jamatia of BJP-IPFT alliance won the Asharambari Assembly seat.
Addressing the new entrants, BJP leaders urged all the activists to obey the discipline and guidelines of the Party and take part in implementing Government schemes actively. All the leaders focused on party discipline.
In another programme, 854 CPIM supporters joined BJP. The joining programme was held at Tant Choumuhani under West Ganki in Khowai. In the programme, voters of 36, 37 and 38 booths under Khowai Assembly Constituency today formally joined BJP. Several elected PRI members were among the 854 new entrants, sources said. Although, CPIM won the Khowai Assembly seat, BJP is desperately trying to strengthen its organizational base almost immediately after the poll results were out.
