January 12, 2018: The National Youth Day to commemorate 155th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was observed across the State today. The main programme was held at Vivek Udyan in Agartala. The state-level programme was organized by Ramakrishna Mission, Agartala in collaboration with Vivek Udyan Sanrakshan Samity and Vivekananda Yuva Mahamandal.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty, AMC Mayor Dr. Prafullyajit Sinha and Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Swami Hitakamananda among others paid homage to the statue of Swami Vivekananda-one of the greatest philosophers and nation builders of the country.
Speakers highlighted several aspects of the Swami Vivekananda’s vision and urged people to follow the path as envisaged by the great monk. Students of several schools attended the programme. Cultural programmes along with other programmes were held to pay homage to Swamiji.
