Cold Moon Magic for Students: BTVM Narsingarh Installs ‘Stargazer Telescope’

Agartala Dec 4: Students of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, Narsingarh, had a wonderful experience of observing Cold Moon from the school campus today.

In an initiative aimed at cultivating curiosity for astronomy and enhancing practical scientific learning among students, Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, Narsingarh, took a leap in science education with the inauguration of its “Stargazer Telescope”.

The telescope was unveiled in the presence of Manas Paul, Executive Director of Tripura Times, Dr. Ayan Saha, Officer-in-Charge of the Udaipur Science Centre, and Biplab Debnath, Panchayat Pradhan of Narsingarh. Their presence added weight to what the school described as a milestone moment in its academic journey.

The programme offered students a rare opportunity to “Grab the Chance, Gaze the Stars”. For many, it became a memorable moment as they viewed the Cold Moon through the telescope for the first time. The event began at 5:00 PM on the school campus.

Principal Swapna Shome expressed her excitement over the new addition to the institution’s learning resources. She said the telescope will inspire young minds, expand their scientific perspective, and strengthen their interest in astronomy and research-driven learning. She reaffirmed that the school is committed to providing advanced learning experiences beyond conventional classroom boundaries.

Former IFS officer and Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra, Debashis Chakraborty also attended the ceremony and spoke on the educational value of space research. He highlighted how such tools encourage scientific thinking and hands-on exploration among students.

The introduction of the “Stargazer Telescope” marks a progressive step for Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, as the school looks forward to fostering a deeper engagement with astronomy and space science. Faculty members believe the instrument will accelerate scientific practice and open up new avenues for practical observation in the days ahead.
