Dhalai district of Tripura has got second position in the ranking of Aspirational districts in the country – known as Delta ranking of NITI Aayog for December 2020. The ranking indicates the good ground works in healthcare sector.

The Delta Rankings of aspirational District came off at a time when like other parts of the country, Tripura were ravaged by Covid19 menace. Despite lockdowns and serious pressure on health care services in the State, Dhalai district kept the momentum and continued in improving the field work overcoming shortfalls.  

 

Hailing the performance, a tweet from Amitabh Kant, the CEO of NITI Aayog wrote, Dhalai district’s strategy of tracking pregnant women through the convergence of ANM and ASHA workers is getting reflected in its overall performance.

 

Meanwhile, Shrawasti in Uttar Pradesh has topped in the Delta ranking of aspirational districts by the NITI Aayog in December 2020. While Dhalai  of Tripura came in 2nd position, Garhwa of Jharkhand has been placed at the third position. The fourth and fifth positions went to Baksa of Assam and Bokaro of Jharkhand respectively.

 

There are 112 aspirational districts in the country and Dhalai is the only such district in Tripura. The incremental progress of these 112 aspirational districts on six different developmental parameters was considered in delta rankings in December 2020.

 

The six developmental parameters – Health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion, skill development and basic infrastructure – were the parameters that were taken into consideration for the ranking.
