Police recover Brown Sugar
Police recovered Brown Sugar kept in 220 small size containers from the house of one Aatiul Islam of Rangamati at Sonamura in Tripura on Saturday. Police and TSR led by Sonamura PS Partha Nath Bhowmik raided the house and recovered the Brown Sugar. Later Bhowmik said, quantity of the narcotics seized is yet to be measured byut every container is likely to contain 5-7 gm Brown Sugar. Bhowmik also said that Aatiul Islam gave police a slip, however, Police slapped a case under NDPS against Islam.
Notably, Rangamati area is infamous for narcotics trading. Several people were arrested from this area for dealing with dry ganja, cough syrup, Yaba tablets and Brown Sugar etc.
Corona Night Curfew in Khowai
Corona Night Curfew has been imposed in four areas under Khowai district from Saturday.
In an order, DM of Khowai Smitha Mol, IAS said, “Corona Night Curfew is imposed for areas falling within Khowai Municipal Council, Teliamura Municipal Council, Teliamura RD Block and Kalyanpur RD Block from 6pm to 5am with effect from June 12 to June 19 next”.
Meanwhile, small traders of Khowai were shocked to know about the Corona Curfew in the evening as the Curfew was announced without any prior information.
In view of growing cases of Corona, Chief Whip of State Assembly Kalyani Roy demanded imposition of Corona Night Curfew in the district. The Corona Night Curfew is expected to rein in the crowding in markets in the evening.
BJP-Motha clash: One held
Police arrested one person Gaburchhara area in Hrishyamuk under South Tripura on Saturday in connection with violence between BJP and IPFT on May 15 last. According to sources, several people were injured in the clash and a case was filed against Sajal Das along with other people for their alleged involvement in the violence.
On Saturday, Police arrested Sajal and produced him before the Court. The Court sent him to Jail remand till June 17.
