This year also, the Rath Yatra festival in Tripura this year will be celebrated without the participation of devotees, similar to the previous year, along with strict adherence to coronavirus disease protocols (Covid-19) in order to curb the spread of the viral disease, the Jagannath temple administration at Agartala said on Sunday.
“No devotees are allowed to participate in Rath Yatra,” administration stated. It is stated that every year unlike previous and this year, the 5 to 7 days long festival used to be held for centuries in the major temples across the state, but this year due to the pandemic participation of devotees are restricted.
Administration of Agartala’s Jagannath temple stated, “Puja will be peformed following all rituals in the temple, but temple doors shall remain closed with priests inside will be performing the puja.”
