Tripura Police on Wednesday busted a ganja processing unit and arrested two persons. Notably, Since BJP-led Government wrested power from the Left Front in 2018, raids against ganja were intensified across the State.  

Acting on a tip off, Tripura Police laid an ambush at Chelikhola area under Bishalgrah sub-division and succeeded in arresting two persons- Manik Rudra Paul and Biswajit Rudra Paul- and a Ganja processing tool, police said.

According to police sources, they have been informed by their sources that ganja is being processed and packed to make delivery-ready and after confirmation, the operation has been planned and executed successfully. As per the police estimate, about 200 Kgs of ganja both raw and processed were seized during the operation.

OC Bisalagarh police station Debasish Das said, “Since last few days we are receiving information from our sources that there is a Ganja processing unit deep inside the forest at Chelikhola area. After confirmation, the raid has been conducted today and not less than 200 Kgs of cannabis is recovered along with processing tools”.
