Aiming to preserve forest and wild animals as well as conservation of Trishna Sanctuary for making it attractive to tourists, the National Bison Utsav 2022 was held at Rajnagar in Belonia on Sunday. Every year the Utsav is being observed.
The bison of Trishna Sanctuary is a major attraction to tourists.
Speaking on the occasion, PCCF Dr DK Sharma, IFS urged people to step forward for preserving the forest and wild animals. A cultural programme was also staged in which artists of the Belonia sub-division participated.
Among others, MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik Dr K Sashi Kumar IFS and DM of South district Saju Vaheed A, IAS were present in the Baison Utsav 2022.
Adivasi Cong demands Tribal Dev Council
The Indigenous wing of Tripura Pradesh Congress demanded the formation of a Tribal Development Council for the overall development of the Janajati people of the state. Addressing a press meet at Kailashahar on Sunday, State vice-president of Adivasi Congress Chakrabani Tripura said, a one-day convention of Adivasi Congress would be held in Agartala on Monday. He also said, “culture and tradition of 19 ethnic communities of the State are gradually becoming extinct. In the wake of such a situation, separate fund allocations should be made after forming Tribal Development Council”.
Chakrabani Tripura alleged demands for Tipra land and Greater Tipra Land are nothing political tools of different parties but Congress is sincerely working for the upliftment of the indigenous people.
Among others president of Unakoti District Congress Mohammad Badrujjaman, leaders of different ethnic communities Jaynal Halam, Rindinga Darlong, Dhirendra Debbarma, Shuarai Reang were present at today’s press meeting.
10-member bikers arrive in Tripura
Seventy-five bike riders from different states of the country have set out on a tour of the northeastern states. Among them, a 10-member team entered Tripura on Sunday. Sabhadhipati of North district Zilla Parishad Bhabatosh Das, chairperson of Tripura Commission for Women Barnali Goswami and others offered them a warm welcome at the Churaibari Police Station area.
The bikers said they have arrived in Tripura to understand and realize its natural and cultural beauties and varieties.
