June 06, 2018: Daughter of Tripura – Nishtha Chakraborty (22) has brought laurels one more time as she lifted one gold and two silver medals in recently concluded world kick-boxing championship at Anapa in Russia. A rousing welcome programme is waiting for her when she will arrive in Agartala on Wednesday.
Nishtha won gold medal in the senior women’s group of 70 kg while the two silvers came in the womens 70 kg line group and hard style group. In the just concluded world kick-boxing competition altogether 759 contestants had joined from 12 countries. Her coach Pinaki Chakraborty said that he had always been optimistic over Nishtha winning a gold in the world championship. He added that Nishtha’s success was a collective success of the state.
